terms

updated 22 October 2026

These terms cover using PixelLabs apps and buying licences for them. PixelLabs is the trading name of Jay Breen, in the UK. Questions go to support@pixel-labs.dev.

The free apps

You may download the free apps and use them, on as many Macs as you like, at home or at work. Please don't sell them, or pass off a changed copy as the original.

Licences

Some apps, or some of what they do, need a licence key. A licence is for the person or business that bought it, and covers what the app's page said when you bought it:

  • AppPatch: one person, on up to 3 Macs they use, for every AppPatch 1.x. Checking for updates stays free without a licence.
  • Watchtower: the edition you bought, for that major version, with two years of updates. The 14-day trial is the whole product, with no card needed.

Keys work offline and nothing counts the Macs they're used on: that's on trust. Please don't share a key beyond what it covers, or publish it. A key that has been refunded, or charged back, or shared publicly may be revoked, and later versions of the app may then refuse it.

Paying

Licences are sold by Stripe, through Stripe Managed Payments, as the seller of record. Stripe's terms cover the payment, and Stripe sends the receipt or invoice. The price shown includes any VAT or sales tax due where you are. A licence is paid for once: there's no subscription and nothing renews.

Refunds

If a licence isn't right for you, email support@pixel-labs.dev within 14 days of buying it for a full refund, with no need to say why. The key stops being valid once it's refunded. After 14 days, an app that doesn't work as its page describes is still covered by your rights under UK consumer law, and will be put right or refunded.

Using the apps sensibly

Some apps change or delete things: MacScrub clears files, AppPatch installs updates, AppLatch locks apps. They ask before doing anything that can't be undone, but keep a backup of anything you care about, as you would with any software that does this kind of work. Use Seed Recovery only on wallets that are yours.

Only scan networks with Watchtower that you own or have written permission to scan. Scanning other people's networks can be against the law.

When things go wrong

The apps are made with care and tested before release, but no software is free of faults. Apart from your rights as a consumer, which these terms don't take away, the apps are provided as they are. If a paid app causes a loss, PixelLabs' responsibility is limited to what you paid for it, except where the law doesn't allow that limit, such as for death or injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. PixelLabs isn't responsible for losses it couldn't have foreseen, or for business losses from the free apps.

Changes and the law

These terms may change for new versions and new purchases; the version that applied when you bought a licence goes on applying to it. The law of England and Wales governs these terms, and if you live elsewhere in the UK you can also use your local courts.
